Convenience!

Thanks to the WaterSafe Bacteria Test Kit, there's no need to send your water to a lab; you can test it yourself - from the comfort of your own home! This test kit will alert you to even the smallest traces of bacteria that may have seeped into your water supply. It's also small enough to take with you while traveling or on camping trips.

Maintain Good Health!

Testing the water at your child's school may help determine if it's safe to drink. Your family (and the family pet) will stay healthier by drinking uncontaminated water at home. Even your household plants will spring to life and maintain their beauty.

Useful For Any Type Of Home!

Ranchers and farmers may want to test their feed water to find out what their valuable livestock are drinking. Testing the water in new homes can detect whether or not the builder properly flushed the water lines.

Education!

WaterSafe Drinking Water test kits can be a fun way to teach kids about the science of clean water. In 2006, a middle school girl in New Tampa Florida won First Place in a regional science fair using a similar kit to test the bacteria levels in the water at local fast food restaurants!

Some Precautions:

  • Keep the test kit out of reach of children and animals
  • Do not ingest any part of the test kit, or any water used in the test
  • Do not open any parts of the kit until you're ready to perform the test
  • Avoid using hot water or water containing bleach detergents
  • This is a one-time-use test kit - no part of it can be reused

Bacteria Test Instructions:

  1. Set the Bacteria Test vial upright on a flat surface.

  3. Acquire a sample of the water you wish to test. For tap water, turn it on to a very slow stream.

  5. Gently remove the vial's cap and fill it to the 5ml line, or 1/2 inch below the top. It is important that you DO NOT overfill the vial and DO NOT allow the powder in the vial to spill. Replace the cap and twist it until it's secure on the vial.

  7. Shake the vial for about 20 seconds.

  9. Set the vial down on a flat surface in a warm area and let sit undisturbed for 48 hours.

  10. After 48 hours, note the color of the liquid inside the vial. DO NOT open the vial.

  11. If the results are negative, simply pour into the toilet and flush. For either result, the vial can be disposed into the trash.

If the test results come up positive, add a drop of bleach to the contents of the vial before flushing down the toilet.
