The Frigidaire PureSource Water Filter WF1CB / RG-100 fits Frigidaire and Kenmore Energy Star compliant refrigerators made after April 2001 where the filter is inside of a round plastic housing.

The WF1CB Filter replaces these older filter part numbers:

  • Frigidaire
    • RF100, RG100, NGRG2000
    • RF-100, RG-100, NGRG-100, NGRG-2000
    • 218994101, 218717805, 240389101
    • 240389102, 240394501, SWF1CB, WFB
  • Sears / Kenmore
    • 9910, 469910, 46-9910, 9910P, 04609910000

Note: If you have a Kenmore refrigerator,
and your fridge model number starts with 253,
then your refrigerator was made by Frigidaire.
Notes:
  • The actual PureSource filter cartridge has blue ends
  • The filter cartridge sits inside of a white plastic "cup" and you'll need to unscrew the cup before you can see the filter

The PureSource Filter WF1CB / RG-100 removes the following impurities from your drinking water:

As with all built-in refrigerator water filters, the WF1CB does not remove Fluoride

The WF1CB cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standard 42

The PureSource Water Filter WF1CB should be replaced every 6 months or when the "change filter" light comes on - whichever comes first.

Installing your new water filter:

  1. Unscrew the filter cup and dump out the water
  2. Pull the old filter straight down and discard
  3. Place the new filter in the filter cup
    • The end of the filter with the small o-ring should be up
  4. Screw the filter cup (with filter) up onto the housing
    • The filter will self-align as the cup is tightened
  5. Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one)

Resetting your "change filter" light:

  • Press and hold the reset button on the dispenser until the green light flashes (up to 15 seconds).

These filters are all interchangeable, so you can use any of them in your fridge...

Staff Rating The FridgeFilters.com Staff Rating is based on an in-depth analysis of the filter materials, construction, packaging, specifications, and certification.

Generally speaking, a filter with more stars is NSF certified, is made of high-grade plastic with tight seams, and has no sharp edges. The filter label and box are well designed, and include color photos to aid in installation. Once installed, the filter produces better tasting, healthier water.

Factors include:
  • Flow rate, capacity (filter life), micron rating, etc.
  • Filtering material - carbon block, granular carbon, pleated paper, etc.
  • The type of contaminants removed by the filter - Chlorine, Lead, Cysts, etc.
  • The number of different contaminants removed
  • The percentage reduction of each contaminant
  • Materials used to make the housing
  • Tightness of seams, quality of o-rings, etc.
  • Certification by an independent agency - ANSI, NSF, WQA, etc.
  • Length of manufacturers warranty, Good Housekeeping seal of approval, etc.
  • Detailed installation instructions on the filter label, box, or both
  • Country of manufacture - USA, Mexico, Taiwan, China, etc.

(more info) The Aqua-Fresh filter is well made, but we lowered its rating because it's not certified and the loose-weave fabric mesh wrapping the carbon block may allow carbon particles to pass through. The box looks a bit cheap, and the installation instructions are in plain text (with typos) where pictures would have been better - especially with this somewhat complicated installation.

If those details don't bother you, it's hard to find a better bargain.

(more info) The Brita filter is well made and heavier than the others - presumably because it contains more carbon. The box and label include detailed installation instructions - which is nice since you only change the filter twice a year. The filter removes as many impurities as the best filters we sell, and Brita guarantees it will fit and make the water taste better.

Great filter, great price, trusted brand... the Brita is hard to beat.

(more info) The WF1CB should fit perfectly since Frigidaire Engineers designed both the filter system and the filter cartridge - there's no guesswork here. The PureSource only removes Chlorine and Particulates, so it's not the best choice if you're worried about lead or industrial chemicals.

Great way to save money and still get the Frigidaire name.

(more info) Like the WF1CB, the WFCB should be a perfect fit for your fridge. The filter removes more impurities than the WF1CB - including Lead, Cysts, herbicides, and pesticides.

A great, no-compromise, genuine Frigidaire filter.
