We are looking for someone to help us expand our product offerings. The job entails identifying quality products in the niches that we are expanding into. You will research and identify the products, help make contact with the manufacturer, and then work on building the content to sell the products.
This job requires someone with a special attention to detail. You have to be able to look at web pages through the shoppers eyes. What on the page might help build their confidence in the product and in our company? What might make them lose confidence and go somewhere else? What information do they need to make or confirm their buying decision? How much information is too much?
In general you should be an experienced web shopper, you buy a ton of stuff online, and you've probably even sold some stuff on eBay. You are a good writer; you can make something mundane sound (at least slightly) interesting. You might have studied marketing, psychology, english or business. You have to be able to get inside the shoppers head and try to think like them.
You are a self-starter. You can figure out how web sites and software work on your own. You've probably built (at least) a few web sites from scratch, and Web 2.0 is more than a buzzword to you. You are organized and can stay focused on a goal; you don't go off on tangents (very much).
Education: 4 Year college graduate with good gradesExperience: This is an entry level job so no particular experience is required
