"I changed my water filter, but my filter light is still red... what gives?" On most fridges the water filter light is nothing more than a fancy “egg timer” set to go off after six months. That’s because the water filter is made from activated carbon which only absorbs contaminants for about 6 months - think of it as a charcoal sponge. Once the "sponge" is full, the filter just lets water & contaminants pass right through until it eventually clogs up with tiny particles of sand, sediment, and rust. Merely inserting your brand-spanking-new water filter will not reset the light on any fridge, so you'll need to manually reset your filter change indicator light. Not sure how to reset the light... here's how - filter light reset instructions. Got a Stinky Fridge that baking soda won’t fix? Product Code 8171414 Product UPC 050946800615 |
