GE SmartWater MWF Refrigerator Filter Replacement Cartridge

The GE SmartWater MWF Cartridge fits GE and Hotpoint refrigerators with a round white plastic filter, typically mounted inside the refrigerator at the rear of the compartment - above the top shelf.

The MWF Filter plus a GE filter adapter can be used to replace these old metal canister filters:

The MWF filter plus GE filter adapter is about 1 inch taller than the old style metal canister filters so if you are replacing a metal canister filter, and your top refrigerator shelf is set pretty high (close to the bottom of the filter) then you may want to buy the GE MXRC filter instead.

The MWF cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to meet or exceed NSF/ANSI Standards 42 & 53

Rated Flow Rate: 0.5 gallons per minute at 60 psi

The SmartWater Filter MWF should be replaced every 6 months or when the "change filter" light comes on - whichever comes first.

Installing your new water filter:

1. Twist the old filter a half-turn counterclockwise
2. Pull the filter straight down and discard (don't worry, the water will shut off automatically)
3. Fill the new filter with water (you can use the cold water faucet on your kitchen sink)
4. Push the new filter up into the fridge until it stops
5. Twist the filter a half-turn clockwise
6. Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one)

Resetting your "change filter" light:

• Press and hold the reset water filter button on the dispenser for 3 seconds.
