Frigidaire 218720100 PureSource / PureSourcePlus Refrigerator Filter O-Ring

The Frigidaire O-Ring 218720100 fits Frigidaire and Kenmore refrigerators that use the PureSource (WF1CB) and PureSourcePlus (WFCB) filters.

The O-ring seals the filter housing to the refrigerator, and prevents water from leaking into your refrigerator compartment. It sometimes gets damaged when the filter housing is unscrewed, especially if it's so tight that you have to use the Frigidaire Filter Wrench to unscrew the housing. The O-ring should be replaced if you can see any nicks, tears, or any other visible damage.

And here's a tip: If you apply a little vegetable oil to the o-ring, and hand tighten the filter cup, it's less likely to get damaged - And, it will be much easier to remove the filter cup next time you change your filter.

The Frigidaire O-Ring 218720100 should be replaced when it becomes damaged, or every 3rd filter change (as a precaution).
