Aqua Fresh WF282 Refrigerator Water Filter (Compatible with GE SmartWater GSWF)

The AquaFresh WF282 Replacement Filter fits all refrigerators that use the GE GSWF water filter.

The Aqua Fresh WF282 Filter removes the following impurities from your drinking water:

• 99.30% of Lead at pH 6.5
• 99.90% of Lead at pH 8.5
• 94.50% of Mercury at pH 6.5
• 96.60% of Mercury at pH 8.5
• 99.92% of Asbestos
• 89.60% of Benzene
• 99.90% of P-Dichlorobenzene
• 99.99% of Cysts
• 98.70% of Carbofuran
• 97.00% of Chlorine
• 99.10% of Turbidity
• 97.60% of Particulates (Class I)

As with all built-in refrigerator water filters, the WF-282 does not remove Fluoride

The AquaFresh WF282 should be replaced every 6 months or when the "change filter" light comes on - whichever comes first.

Installing your new filter:

1. Unlatch the plastic filter cover, and let it swing down (so you can see the filter)
2. Twist the old filter a quarter-turn counterclockwise
3. Pull the filter straight out and discard (don't worry, the water will shut off automatically)
4. Push the new filter into the fridge until it stops
5. Twist the filter a quarter-turn clockwise
6. Swing the plastic filter cover up until it snaps closed
7. Reset your "change filter" light (if your fridge has one)

Resetting your "change filter" light:

• Press and hold the reset water filter button on the dispenser for 3 seconds.

The filter is covered in a fine layer of carbon dust, it doesn't have a protective foil seal or label of any kind, and the plain white box doesn't include any instructions. If those details don't bother you, it's hard to find a better bargain.	(more info) The GSWF should fit perfectly since GE Engineers designed both the filter system and the filter cartridge - there's no guesswork here. The name, part number, and specs are printed on the filter itself, rather than on a label - which gives it a more "polished" feel, and GE includes detailed specs, filter change instructions, and an actual NSF certification inside the box. A great, no-compromise, genuine GE filter.
